I have written several pieces on FB regarding my personal experiences in the area of racism and prejudice in the church. This past week I was reminded of the time that I was ministering in Florida and was introduced to a woman of God named Diane Mann. While sharing over lunch it was very clear that we had much in common as women who preached the gospel covering the two ministry gifts of Pastor and Evangelist. Pastor Diane invited me to preach a revival and I was so blessed to see that she was pastoring a multicultural church. Over the years we developed a friendship and I would always look forward to ministering at the 4th Avenue COG. As time moved on I noticed a change in the complexion of the congregation. More people of color were attending who were African Americans and people from Haiti and other Caribbean Islands and there were less people who looked like Pastor Di in attendance. Pastor is very cross cultural, having lived in Haiti and graduating from high school there. She even speaks the language and sings the songs in creole. I’m sharing this because I know how deeply hurt she has been having experienced “ white flight” in a Pentecostal Church. She has been accused of favoring the “blacks” and even called a n………..lover. I believe the Lord has called Diane and myself in the COG to bridge the racial divides and break through those barriers by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Ghost. She ministers to people of color and I to whites. This is a God thing. Neither one of us would have chosen this painful path, but we have said YES to the Lord in order to advance the Kingdom of God.
I will continue to address these issues in the church until the believers admit how much farther we need to go!!!
Thank You my Sister and Friend Diane for your obedience and faithfulness to the Lord and His people!!! You didn’t know I was going to put you on FB. I guess I should have asked your permission

I confess that I do not understand all that is happening in this hour. There is so much confusion in and outside of the church. Too many conspiracy theories and prophets. I’ve chosen to pray and read God’s Word for answers and I refuse to read all of those messages being sent to me. I will trust the Lord for my present and future, as a 76 year old single minister of the Gospel. And I have decided to not enter into unbelief or doubt because of the MYSTERY of it all!!!!! Thank You Jesus For Your Unfailing Love!!!

I saw an interesting post that said, “ give up all your fornicationships.” My thoughts went to Song of Solomon, a book I love to teach from. In chapter 8 read verses 8 and 9. They decided that if she was like a wall, standing against sexual temptation, they would praise her. But if she was like a door open to immorality, they would try to guard her from doing something that would harm her. I like verse 10 because she testifies of being moral and that was pleasing to Solomon. Any and everything can go in and out of a door, but you have to bust through a wall. So, let this 76 year old, Mama Jacqui “ jack you up” by saying, you better be WALLS my COG and other singles, so you will be pleasing to your Solomon who in our spiritual lives is JESUS!!! On the spiritual level we are not to let any and everything into our walk with the Lord. Stay tuned for more teaching from Song of Solomon.

In Judges 3 the Lord chose a lefthanded man to deliver His people. Ehud was going to have to get pass the guards so his weapon was bound on his right thigh. Most people are right handed and their weapon would be on their left side. I’m right handed and when I try to use my left hand it’s awkward, I’m clumsy and weak. My being a female, black, single, preache in the Church of God in the beginning was a lot of awkwardness, weakness and clumsy ness. Yet, it was in God ‘s plan to use me in all of that left handedness to pass the guards to break through racial, cultural, gender and generational barriers. You might feel I’m not smart , bold, charismatic, powerful or good enough to be used by God. You are just the one He would want to use in the most unique ways. I’m sure the guards assumed Ehud was right handed so they checked him out on his left side and let him in to see the one who was holding God’s people in captivity. Read the rest of the story. They didn’t see him coming. Nor will they expect us to be deliverer’s during these pandemics. Pull your weapon of Praise on one side and Prayer on the other and slay these enemies of hatred, injustices, racism, etc!!!

A lesson from Hannah who was suffering because of being barren and being provoked, irritated and ridiculed by the other wife of her husband who had the blessing of children. I don’t see her having a cat fight with the woman who had the blessing she wanted so much, but I do see her going to church to take her problem to the only One who could help her. While praying she is now misunderstood by the Pastor. He accused her of being a drunk as her lips were moving but no voice could be heard. Even in her pain she addresses Eli, the Priest as Lord. This woman had every reason to react in a negative way. She was barren, sharing her husband with another woman and misunderstood by the Pastor, yet she maintained her innocence, integrity and godly character. While we are feeling barrenness in some situations; being made fun of for our decisions, falsely accused and misunderstood, let us during these challenging times maintain our innocence, integrity and godly character. Love and Honor one another!!!
